Michael Campbell and Darren
Clarke have won the first two Golfer of the Month awards on the European tour
this year.
New Zealander Campbell was
given the award for January following wins in the New Zealand Open and Heineken
Classic, and Darren Clarke received the February prize for his World Match Play
victory at La Costa.
Both earn £1,000 charity
donations for the Golf Foundation.
Michael McDonnell, president
of the Association of Golf Writers, said: "Darren's performance was engrossing,
great theatre, great stuff from start to finish.
"He has become for
the moment the standard bearer for European golf and he reminded everyone of
the quality there is to be found on the European tour."
