Bickerton signs for Barry Hearn

Barry Hearn's newly-formed Matchroom Golf Management have signed up John Bickerton in a three-year deal.

The 30-year-old midlander finished 20th on the European Tour order of merit last year and joins the Victor Chandler-backed squad which also includes Greg Owen, Greig Hutcheon, Jonathan Lomas, David Lynn, Bradley Dredge and Elliot Boult.

Bickerton had seven top-10 finishes last season, including a second place in the Portuguese Algarve Open.

Matchroom chairman Hearn, who will attend this week's Dubai Desert Classic to identify a player to fill the eighth and final place in his squad, said:

"We are delighted that a player of John's obvious calibre and potential has decided to sign. Now it is down to John and the rest of the lads to go out there and deliver the goods."
