England's Simon Dyson
completed a highly successful year on the Asian PGA tour by
winning the $500,000 Hong Kong Open on Sunday.
Dyson's final-round seven-under-par 64 gaven him his biggest
pay cheque of $80,750 and the Tour Order Of Merit title.
The Briton, who turns 23 on Thursday, produced a vintage
putting display to win by three strokes from Australian Kim
Felton, American John Kernohan and South Korea's Charlie Wi who
were tied for second place.
Defending champion Patrik Sjoland of Sweden ended one stroke
back while third-round leader Paul Lawrie of Scotland closed
with a disappointing 74 to fall back into a tie for eighth
place.
"Seeing my name on top of the leaderboard is hard to
believe. I putted so well. I holed some really good putts," said
Dyson, who turned professional at the end of last year.
Victory allowed him to jump from third place on the Merit
list to first with total winnings for the year of $282,371.
India's Jyoti Randhawa ended second with $224,897, while
Taiwan's Yeh Wei-tze was third on $224,356.
