Vitamin company to sponsor LPGA opener

YourLife Vitamins, one of the world's largest manufacturers of vitamin, herbal, and dietary supplements, has become title sponsor of the 2001 YourLife Vitamins LPGA Classic, Jan. 12-14, at the prestigious Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando, Fla. YourLife Vitamins' sponsorship of this tournament, formerly known as the Classic, is an extension of its commitment to women's health and wellness.

A new event on the LPGA Tour schedule, the YourLife Vitamins LPGA Classic starts the LPGA Tour's 2001 season. Boasting a $1 million purse, the three-day tournament is expected to attract the top players on the LPGA Tour. The tournament will be televised on ESPN as the first event in the State Farm LPGA Series.

"We took advantage of the title sponsorship opportunity to build awareness of the YourLife brand of vitamins to key women consumers," said Tom Bovich, vice president of YourLife Vitamins. "We make a variety of vitamins and supplements that cater to the needs of women and athletes, and we are pleased to lend our support to this exciting golf tournament."

LPGA Commissioner Ty Votaw said, "We are very pleased to have YourLife Vitamins join the LPGA's family of tournament sponsors. YourLife is a long-standing and well-respected company, and their commitment to women's health needs dovetails well with ours."

In addition to competition on Jan. 12-14, tournament week also includes a Monday qualifier for players, practice rounds, the Ronald McDonald House Charities' LPGA Tour Junior Clinic and a pro-am. The LPGA is hosting its annual awards celebration on Monday, Jan. 8, to start the week.
