Montgomerie to start season at Dubai

Colin Montgomerie will begin his quest for a record eighth successive Order of Merit title at the Dubai Desert Classic in March, an event he has won in the past.

"With the strength of our tour and the advent of younger players such as Sergio Garcia, it makes it harder every year just to go out and win let alone the Order of Merit," said Montgomerie.

"The competition is much better than it has ever been which means I have to continue to work harder to stay on top."
