Michael Campbell made an
18-foot eagle putt on the second playoff hole to beat Craig Perks and win the
New Zealand Open on Sunday.
Campbell, currently No.
1 on the European Order of Merit, closed with a 7-under-par 64 and Perks, a member
of the United States' BUY.COM Tour, shot a 65 for 15-under 269 totals on the
Paraparaumu Beach course.
The New Zealanders played
the par-5 18th twice in the playoff, with both managing birdies on the first
extra hole.
Australia's Paul Gow, also
of the BUY.COM Tour, shot a 69 to finish third at 270. He shot a 62 Friday and
was the leader after the second and third rounds.
