Phillip Price will not be joining the US Tour next season after learning that
the £290,000 he earned for a share of second place in the NEC World
Invitational Championship in Ohio last month does not count towards the
official American money list.
"It's a bit of a blow," said the 33-year-old Welshman. "I was certainly
planning to join."
This means that Price will continue to be based on this side of the Atlantic
and if he
maintains the form that has lifted him to sixth in the 2000 order of merit,
he will be heavily fancied to qualify by right for the European team for next
September's Ryder Cup at The Belfry.
Price won't be playing in the US as much as he planned.... Allsport
Instead of being a US Tour member with a commitment to play in at least 15
events, Price's American appearances next season will be restricted to
majors, WGC events and tournaments to which he receives an invitation.
