Allen Doyle shot a 5-under-par 67 Wednesday
and won the Senior Slam by three strokes.
The 18-hole, made-for-TV exhibition at TPC of the Twin Cities
featured the 1999 winners of the four tournaments designated as
majors on the Senior PGA Tour.
Doyle, who earned $150,000, won last year's PGA Seniors'
Championship.
Graham Marsh, who won The Tradition, shot a 70, while Dave
Eichelberger, who won the U.S. Senior Open, and Hale Irwin, who won
the Ford Senior Players, both had 72.
Doyle eagled the par-4 7th hole by holing a shot from 85 yards.
He also birdied both par-5s on the front nine to go out in 32.
The 2000 Senior Slam will be Dec. 2-3 in the Bahamas. Entrants will include Tom Kite (Tradition), Doug Tewell (PGA Seniors' Championship), Irwin (U.S. Senior Open) and Raymond Floyd (Ford Senior Players Championship.
