Allen Doyle wins Senior Slam

Allen Doyle shot a 5-under-par 67 Wednesday and won the Senior Slam by three strokes.

The 18-hole, made-for-TV exhibition at TPC of the Twin Cities featured the 1999 winners of the four tournaments designated as majors on the Senior PGA Tour.

Doyle, who earned $150,000, won last year's PGA Seniors' Championship.

Graham Marsh, who won The Tradition, shot a 70, while Dave Eichelberger, who won the U.S. Senior Open, and Hale Irwin, who won the Ford Senior Players, both had 72.

Doyle eagled the par-4 7th hole by holing a shot from 85 yards. He also birdied both par-5s on the front nine to go out in 32.

The 2000 Senior Slam will be Dec. 2-3 in the Bahamas. Entrants will include Tom Kite (Tradition), Doug Tewell (PGA Seniors' Championship), Irwin (U.S. Senior Open) and Raymond Floyd (Ford Senior Players Championship.
