Barry Lane wins Ponte Vecchio Challenge
England's Barry Lane cruised to victory to in the unique Ponte Vecchio Challenge in Florence.
The unusual golf event involves players teeing off from a platform on the historic Ponte Vecchio bridge in the famous Italian city.
The objective of the player is to land the balls on the greens set up in the middle of the River Arno.
The three greens are set at 90m, 130m and 170m in the surroundings of the Ponte di Santa Trinita.
Lane hit 11 greens in total, grabbing $51,000 (about £34,500) from a possible $83,000 (£56,250) available.
Italian golfer Stefania Croce came second while third spot went to Swede Sophie Gustafsson who shared out the remaining cash prize on offer.
Italian Massimo Scarpa, Swede Robert Karlsson and Frenchwoman Marie-Laure de Lorenzi also participated.
