John Cook set the course record with a 10-under-par 62 Tuesday and it gave him a three-stroke victory over Brent Geiberger in the Wells Fargo Invitational, a charity event hosted by Seattle native Fred Couples.
Cook, who had a 13-under 131 total, broke the record of 66 set Monday on the year-old The Golf Club at Newcastle by Geiberger.
Jeff Sluman, who had a 68, finished third at 138, while PGA rookie and Seattle native Jeff Gove had a 72 and was at 141, one stroke in front of Couples, who had a 69 Tuesday.
Cook started and ended his round with a birdie and he added eight others.
"I was telling (Sluman) that I don't care what the event is," Cook said. "I don't care if it's playing with your buddies at home, or pros on the tour. Making birdie putts is fun."
