Malaysia will host the Women's
World Cup Golf tournament from Nov 27-Dec 3.
Ty Votaw, commissioner
of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), said the event would be held
at the Mines resort in Kuala Lumpur.
Votaw said a rival Ladies
World Cup of Golf scheduled to be held in Ireland in September has not endorsed
by the LPGA.
He said the LPGA held the
rights to the women's World Cup following an agreement with the International
Golf Association.
"While the LPGA is
aware that the Ladies European Tour has announced a Ladies World Cup of Golf
event in Ireland in September, the LPGA will not be sanctioning that event,''
Votaw said.
He said his association
was "fully committed'' to the Malaysian event.
Organisers said England's
Laura Davis, a former women's world champion and winner of 60 international titles
would play in Kuala Lumpur.
Australia's Karrie Webb,
the current champion, has also confirmed her participation
