Twenty two teams start World Cup bid

Twenty two nations from across Europe, the Americas and the Caribbean are competing for the Nations Cup at the Breezes Resort this week.

The two-man teams will play 72 holes of foursomes and fourballs over four days, starting Thursday, with the top three qualifying for the EMC World Cup at Buenos Aires in Argentina in December.

Among the favorites this week are Germany represented by Alex Cejka, winner of three European Tour titles, and Thomas Gogele.

Competing nations: Austria, Bahamas, Bermuda, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Holland, Iceland, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Slovenia, Switzerland, Venezuela.
