Defending champion Darren Clarke, Davis Love III, and Fred Couples will compete in the Andersen Consulting Match Play Championship in January.

The event puts the world's top 64 players in a single-elimination tournament with 18-hole matches and a 36-hole final. It is slated for Jan. 1-7 at the Metropolitan Golf Club in Victoria, Australia.

Clarke, ranked 10th, beat Tiger Woods in the final in February.

Love, the runner-up in three tournaments this season with $2.1 million in earnings, is ranked eighth. Couples is No. 38.
