Druids Glen to host 2002 Ballesteros Trophy

Druids Glen Golf Club near Dublin, Ireland has been selected to host the 2002 Seve Ballesteros Trophy. The second installment of the biennial, match-play team event will pit Continental Europe against Great Britain/Ireland, April 19-21.

European captain Ballesteros, the European Tour's all-time victory leader with 48 wins, stunned GB/Ireland skipper Colin Montgomerie, 2 & 1, on the way to a 13 1/2 - 12 1/2 win for Continental Europe in the inaugural showdown last year at Sunningdale, England.

Druids Glen opened in 1995 and hosted the European Tour's Irish Open from 1996-1999.
