LPGA Tour and World Golf Hall of Famer Amy Alcott was hospitalized Sunday after
experiencing chest pains prior to the final round of the Jamie Farr Kroger Classic.
She was listed in fair condition at Flower Hospital, but would remain overnight,
said hospital spokeswoman Colleen Grubb.
``Currently, our doctors are doing some testing,'' Grubb said, adding that
Alcott requested that hospital officials not disclose information about her symptoms
and diagnosis.
The 45-year-old Alcott was scheduled to tee off in the morning after shooting
rounds of 71, 72 and 71 to stand 1 over par at 214.
Alcott was inducted into the halls in 1999. She has won 29 LPGA tournaments,
including five majors, in her 27-year career.
She was profiled in The (Toledo) Blade on Sunday. In the article, the player
from Santa Monica, Calif., said she was cutting back on her schedule.
``I was a player who played a full schedule for 22 years,'' she said. ``The
last few years I have just kind of cut back because I was tired of traveling,
and a little bit burned out. And I was kind of reassessing my life.''
The Farr was just her seventh tournament this year.
