John Daly pulls out of Asian tournaments

John Daly withdrew Monday from the final two golf tournaments this year in Asia because of travel concerns in the wake of the September terrorist attacks in the United States.

Daly was scheduled to compete in this week's BMW Asian Open in Taiwan followed by the Omega Hong Kong Open.

``I was looking forward to playing in both events but in the present climate I do not feel comfortable flying,'' Asian PGA Tour Ltd. quoted Daly as saying.

Daly played earlier this year in Asia in the Macau Open and the Carlsberg Malaysian Open.

Both the BMW Asian Open and the Omega Hong Kong Open are jointly sanctioned by the Asian PGA-run Davidoff Tour and the European Tour.
