Duval & Love withdraw from Bay Hill

David Duval, the seventh-ranked golfer in the world, has withdrawn from this week's Bay Hill Invitational due to a sore right wrist.

Duval played two weeks ago at the Genuity Championship and finished in a tie for 63rd with a total score of one-under-par 287.

The 29-year-old Duval opened the 2001 season with a seventh-place finish at the Mercedes Championships in Hawaii. He went on to miss back-to-back cuts at the Phoenix Open and the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, marking the first time since 1998 he missed consecutive cuts. He also finished in a tie for 51st at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic in February. The following week he withdrew from the Nissan Open because of fatigue.

This past weekend, Thomas Bjorn informed officials at the Bay Hill Invitational that he would not be able to compete due to travel problems.

Davis Love III also announced that he will not be playing this weekend due to fatigue. Love won the Pebble Beach event earlier this year and finished in sixth place two weeks ago at the Genuity Championship.
