The Cannes Open has been resurrected at two weeks' notice to fill a gap in
the European tour schedule caused by the late cancellation of the Estoril Open.
Prize money at Cannes Mougins on October 11-14 will be £344,000, the
same as was to have been on offer in Portugal.
Players previously entered for the Estoril Open will automatically be entered
for the new event and the closing date has been extended by one week to next Friday
(October 5).
Last played in 1998, the Cannes Open will this year be staged and supported
by the tour and International Sports Management, whose managing director Andrew
Chandler said: "We are delighted to assist at short notice."
