Faldo balancing Ryder Cup & designs

Nick Faldo has travelled across Australia twice in the past week and also visited New Caledonia in the Pacific Ocean prior to finding his way to Perth in the pursuit of further Ryder Cup points.

He arrives for the Heineken Classic in the Western Australian capital with his spirits high after a third place in the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa.

Faldo, who is 19th in the Ryder Cup standings, is only a similar finish away in Australia from breaking into the top 10 on the points table.

"I was pleased to come out and play consistently and I putted really nicely," he said. "It was a nice feeling being back in there and staying there."

"I'm still an outside shot for the Ryder Cup and if I progress from Johannesburg and keep progressing, that will be a good boost," he said.

Nick Faldo shows off his new "company car"!. Allsport.

"At the end of the season I actually went around the world and we were picking up projects almost everywhere I went. We had two projects in America and that would be normally be our total in a year. Then all of a sudden we get Mexico, then New Caledonia, South Africa, Greece.

"I'm still trying to seal projects in Australia and Canada plus a couple in Europe, Ireland and Scotland.
