Barham gains first Challenge Tour win

Benn Barham won his first Challenge Tour title he took the NCC Open at Soderasens in Sweden.

A final round 72 for 273, 11 under par, gained him a two shot victory.Despite being three up overnight by the 11th hole he was a shot behind the leader.

"I then gave myself a talking to," said Barham. "I said to myself 'pull yourself together or you will lose the tournament'."

"I knew then that nine under was the best in the clubhouse and I could afford to bogey the short par-four last and still win," he added.

"I was very nervous at the start because I had never been in this position before," added Barham.

"But this win is very important as it gives me an entry into every tournament for the rest of the season and gives me a good crack at securing my tour card."
