Australian golfer Brett Ogle has been fined for an outburst which
left a woman spectator with a facial cut during last week's Heineken
Classic in Perth.
Australasian PGA Tour operations director Trevor Herden said he
had considered the matter and fined Ogle an undisclosed amount.
The 43-year-old Perth woman received a small cut to the face when
struck by a piece of tee marker smashed by Ogle after an errant
drive.
Herden said Ogle was unaware of the injury at the time and only
found out after the woman reported it to tour organisers later.
"He's contacted the lady in question; he's spoken and apologised,"
Herden said. "He wasn't aware that he hit her. He was quite
upset that he didn't see her at the time."

Herden said the woman was "more than happy" with the
outcome.
The fine comes ahead of a tour board meeting Tuesday which will
consider a South African Airlines report on the in-flight behaviour
of former Australian Open champion Wayne Riley.
Australian Protective Services officers were called to escort Riley
from the flight from South Africa when it arrived in Perth last
week.
