It has been confirmed that Ping Europe will extend their Rookie
of the Year Award to include the 2000 winner, Priscillo Diniz from
Brazil.
"We have enjoyed seeing the success of the European Seniors Tour
as it has grown and gone from strength to strength during our involvement.
You only have to look at the quality of the players to see why the
profile of the Tour is rising rapidly. We are particularly proud
of the fact that PING is involved with the Rookie of the Year Award
and the European Seniors Tour." said Dave Fanning, Marketing Manager
for PING Europe Limited.
Ping's sponsorship of this award began in 1998 and was won by Irishman
Denis O'Sullivan. Priscillo Diniz finished sith on the Order of
merit and beat players such as Bernard Gallacher to the title. The
presentation of the trophy will take place during the Energis Seniors
Masters at Wentworth in August at the European Seniors Tour Annual
Awards Dinner.
