Australian golfers Wayne Riley and Brett Ogle face disciplinary
action for bringing the game into disrepute after separate incidents
last week.
Riley's behaviour on a flight from Johannesburg to Perth led to
the former Scottish Open champion being described by a South African
Airways officer as "the most violent, ugliest, most rude human
being on the earth."
A detailed report from the airline will be discussed during a meeting
in Sydney between 38-year-old, London-based Riley and officials
of both the
Australasian and European tours.
Trevor Herden, director of Australasian tour operations, said: "This
is obviously a serious issue and Wayne will be asked to explain."
Meanwhile, 36-year-old Ogle, who combines playing golf with television
commentary work, is also in trouble after lashing out at a tee marker
during
his opening 76 at the Heineken Classic in Perth.
The marker shattered and a woman spectator was grazed under her
left eye when she was hit by a flying fragment. It was her first
visit to a golf tournament
and she immediately complained to officials.
