Torrance A Happy Man

Inspecting his first golf course design at the new St Andrews Bay Golf Resort in Scotland, Sam Torrance said:

"I couldn't be happier at the way the course at St Andrews Bay is developing. The grasses are establishing very quickly and it is clear the layout and style of the course are entirely appropriate for its location and setting."

The £50 million development includes a 209 room hotel and conference centre and two championship courses. The7000 yard West Course will open later this year and is set on a clifftop overlooking St Andrews.

Torrance worked closely with Gene Sarazen on the design, who died in 1999 at the age of 96.
