According to PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem, "Everyone at the PGA Tour
shares the grief felt around the country at the tragic developments that have
taken place today. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of these tragedies
and their family and friends.
"As it relates to PGA Tour competitions this week, we are adjusting our
tournament scheduling," Finchem said. "We will continue to monitor this
situation, and make any further adjustments to our tournament schedules that appear
to be appropriate or necessary."
The following modifications have been made to tournament schedules for the
week of Sept. 10:
World Golf Championships-American Express Championship: No play on Thursday;
36 holes on Friday; 18 holes on Saturday, 18 holes on Sunday.
Tampa Bay Classic Presented by Buick: Wednesday Pro-Am canceled; no play on Thursday;
18 holes on Friday; 18 holes on Saturday, followed by the 36 hole cut; 36 holes
on Sunday.
Vantage Championship: Wednesday and Thursday Pro-Ams canceled; regular schedule
of 18 holes Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
BUY.COM Oregon Classic: Wednesday Pro-Am canceled; no play on Thursday; 18 holes
on Friday; 18 holes on Saturday, followed by the 36 hole cut; 36 holes on Sunday.
