Webb and Davies heading for Australia

Three–time winner Karrie Webb and two time winnerLaura Davies lead the field for the ANZ Australian Ladies Masters at the Gold Coast, a joint Australian and European tour event.

Tournament organizers said Sunday the March 1 to 4 tournament, to be held at the Royal Pines Resort course, will also include Sophie Gustafson of Sweden, the 2000 British Open winner.

Thehas been rescued by sponsorship from ANZ Bank. The tournament, which was in danger of being scrapped after the withdrawal of a sponsor last year. In 2000 the event was co-sanctioned by America's LPGA Tour and had a prize fund of around 560,000. This time, though, the purse is down to just under 200,000.
