Tiger Woods to join European Tour?

Tiger Woods has excited golf fans in Europe by not dismissing the possibility of becoming a member of the European Tour in the future.

"It would involve a lot of travelling and a lot of demands on my time, but it's something I would like to do one day.

"It's hard to have a run at the money list on both sides (of the Atlantic) and right now my priority is the States, but I like to play globally."

In order to be eligible for the Order of Merit, the American would have to participate in eleven of the events that qualify.

Tiger Woods to play more in Europe ?. Allsport.

In 2001 however is already in line to play ten, so would probably only involve one more trip over the Atlantic than he currently schedules, the four majors and the three world championship events count on both the PGA and European Tours. Add in the TPC of Europe and Johnnie Walker Classic, plus this year the Dubai Desert Classic.

Europeans beware, had he been a member in 1999 & 2000 he would have won the Order of Merit despite playing less than 10 qualifying tournaments.Tiger is not concerned with his current form either.

He said: "I feel I've been playing pretty good. My stroke average is exactly the same as last year, the only difference is that I haven't won.

"I feel I'm close. I'm giving myself chances and that's all you can do. It's been frustrating because your ultimate goal is to win and I've not achieved that. But you have to be realistic - you're not going to win all the time."
