Tiger Woods & Disney reach agreement

Tiger Woods and the Walt Disney Co. have completed a deal that calls for the golfer to make an undisclosed number of appearances in televised events on ABC and ESPN, according to a newspaper report.

Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, and Disney officials declined to disclose the terms of the agreement, the Orlando Sentinel reported today. Woods was in Tulsa, Okla., for the start of the U.S. Open and didn't immediately comment.

Steinberg said no formal announcement was planned.

The deal does not call for Woods to serve as a celebrity spokesman for the Disney theme parks or other Disney projects. Disney owns ABC and ESPN.

The 25-year-old Woods earned $54 million last year from endorsement deals, according to Golf World Magazine. That is more than the $45 million basketball star Michael Jordan made in his best year.

Woods also has endorsement deals with General Motors, Rolex, American Express and General Mills, among others.
