USA named top seeds for World Cup

The United States, which won last year with Tiger Woods and David Duval, is the No. 1 seed for the World Cup.

The event will be played Nov. 13-18 at the Taiheiyo Club in Gotemba City, Japan. Seeded Monday were 18 nations, with South Africa No. 2, Fiji No. 3 and Spain No. 4.

Last year, in Argentina, Woods and Duval gave the Americans their 23rd victory in 46 World Cups. Woods also teamed with Mark O'Meara to win in 1999.

Argentina, last year's runner-up, is seeded 13th this year.
