Callaway settles patent infringement claim

Texas-based Wood Arts Golf, Inc., agreed to an undisclosed financial agreement with Callaway Golf on Tuesday to settle patent infringement claims.

The settlement came shortly after a federal court in Houston dismissed patent infringement claims by Wood Arts against Callaway.

Wood Arts sued Callaway Golf in January 2001, alleging infringement on two of its patents. In a counterclaim, Callaway alleged Wood Arts had been selling metal woods that infringed on one of its patents.
