Bill Clinton to play in Hyundai Team Matches

Former United States President Bill Clinton will play in the pro-am portion of the Hyundai Team Matches on Friday, Nov. 15 at The Golf Links at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort & Spa in Dana Point.

Clinton will join 96 amateurs and 24 pros for the 9 a.m. PT shotgun start. The Hyundai Team Matches features players from the PGA Tour, Senior PGA Tour and LPGA Tour.

"It's a distinct honor for Hyundai to host former President Clinton at the Hyundai Team Matches," said Finbarr O'Neill, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor America, which sponsors the event. "It adds even more excitement to an already popular and successful event that golf fans look forward to every year."

Four two-person teams representing each Tour will compete for $1.2 million in prize money during two rounds of match play on Saturday and Sunday. Each winner will take home a brand new 2003 Hyundai XG 350 sedan in addition to prize money.

This year's Tournament features all six of last year's winners -- Fred Couples and Mark Calcavecchia from the PGA Tour, Allen Doyle and Dana Quigley from the Senior Tour, and Lorie Kane and Janice Moodie from the LPGA Tour. Among others playing will be PGA champion Rich Beem, Peter Leonard, Dottie Pepper, Grace Park, Beth Bauer, Jim Thorpe and Peter Jacobsen.
