Jacobson wins November award Fredrik Jacobson has been named
Asprey Golfer of the Month for November for which he earns a £1,000 charity
donation to The Golf Foundation.
Jacobson won the award for his victory
in the Omega Hong Kong Open, the 28-year-old Swede securing his first European
Tour title after finishing second on six previous occasions. "I am
honoured to be voted Asprey Golfer of the Month ahead of so many deserving candidates,"
said Jacobson. "I'm obviously delighted I finally won my first tournament
after coming second so many times and am happy for all the people who have supported
me through the years." The Asprey Panel discussed a worthy list of
contenders which included Bernhard Langer and Colin Montgomerie, who tied for
the 2002 Tour's final event the Volvo Masters Andalucia, and recent event winners
Padraig Harrington and Ernie Els. Other winners of the award this year
