PGA
players win Wendys 3 Tour Challenge PGA players John Daly, Rich
Beem and Jim Furyk shot a combined 5-under-par to win the Wendy's Three-Tour Challenge
Tuesday over players from the LPGA and Senior PGA.
Daly and Furyk both
shot 2-under 69s while Beem carded a 70 at Dragon Ridge Country Club. Daly broke
the shaft on his driver on the par-5 12th, but was more concerned with his ball.
"I just hope my ball is OK," he said. "We'll get the club
fixed." The event, in its 11th year, raised $2.5 million for the Dave
Thomas Foundation for Adoption, created by the late founder of Wendy's. Senior
PGA players Gary McCord, Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw finished two strokes behind
for second place. Finishing third were Juli Inkster, Karrie Webb and Laura Diaz
from the LPGA. The LPGA won the event last year.
