Tiger may add Doral to
schedule
Tiger Woods could be coming to Doral again.
Woods skipped the Nissan Open last week at Riviera for the first time in his
career so he could get healthy and prepare for the Match Play Championship, which
started Thursday.
He is thinking about adding another tournament, and said he was leaning toward
the Genuity Championship.
The deadline for entering is Friday. Woods' decision likely will be impacted
by how far he goes in the Match Play Championship, a single-elimination tournament
for the top 64 players in the world.
Woods played Doral in 1998, shooting a 5-under 283 to finish tied for ninth.
It was the only time he has played a south Florida tournament since turning pro.
Should he decide to play, the $4.7 million tournament would have eight of the
top 10 players in the world ranking. Phil Mickelson (No. 2) and U.S. Open champion
Retief Goosen (No. 6) are not likely to play.
