Weir & Mattiace could rematch in June

Masters champion Mike Weir could have a rematch against Len Mattiace in June.

Both will play in the $1.2 million CVS Charity Classic June 23-24 at the Rhode Island Country Club. Weir beat Mattiace in a playoff to win the green jacket earlier this month.

"I think a lot of fans would love to see a dream pairing of Mike and Len Mattiace," said Brad Faxon, tournament co-host and PGA Tour veteran. "Both the fans and (CVS CEO) Tom Ryan would love that. But we want everyone to be comfortable.

"We will talk to Mike and to Lenny before we set the pairings and see who they would like to play with."

Another possible pairing could be Weir and Rich Beem, the reigning PGA champion, officials said.
