Flesch moves into World
Top 50
Steve Flesch moved into the world's top 50 with his victory at the HP Classic
of New Orleans. His maiden PGA Tour title lifted him from 86th to 43rd.
There was little shuffling at the top end of the world rankings. The gap between
Tiger Woods and Ernie Els, ranked one and two respectively, was unaffected as
both players did not play this past week.
Jim Furyk crept past David Toms and settled into seventh spot, while Bob Estes
made waves further down the order with his jump from 23rd to 16th after finishing
in second behind Flesch.
