Veteran Mike Cunning wins Indian Open

Veteran American golfer Mike Cunning has carded an eight-under-par 64 in the final round to clinch the Indian Open tournament in New Delhi.

The 44-year-old American finished the tournament at the Delhi Golf Club course with an 18-under-par total of 270, to complete a five-stroke win over runner-up Rick Gibson of Canada.

Adam Groom of Australia and James Kingston of South Africa finished tied for third place, another shot back. Cunning was tied for third place coming into Sunday's final round, before he pulled away by recording 10 birdies and two bogeys to claim his first Asian PGA title. The American has been playing on the Asian circuit for over two decades.

Gibson recorded a 69 to finish as runner-up for the second straight year. The 41-year-old Canadian had five birdies and two bogeys in the final round.
