Seve Trophy extended by a day

The third Seve Trophy match, Britain & Ireland vs Europe, willbe played over 4 days rather than 3 at El Saler in Valencia in November.

The match will begin on Thursday, November 6 rather than the following day to avoid any problems with fading light.

The new format will see fourball matches played onThursday and Friday, morning greensomes and afternoon foursomes on Saturday and then the traditional 10 singles matches on Sunday.

Seve Ballesteros said: "Having another day to play fourball matches will be less tiring and give the players the chance to bring out their best for the watching fans.

"I just want the fans to know that the extra day is not there to help me finish my singles match with Monty!"
