Tucson offers Sorenstam a sponsors invitation

Annika Sörenstam will be offered a sponsor's exemption for the Chrysler Classic of Tucson, according to a report in the Arizona Republic, if she decides to participate in the tournament.

Scott Butler, the chairman of the tournament, stated to the Republic Thursday that talks are ongoing with Sörenstam's agent regarding an exemption for the top female golfer in the world to tee it up at Tucson National in late February.

The B.C. Open also offered Sörenstam an exemption last week after Sörenstam expressed interest in playing a PGA Tour event under a sponsors's exemption.
