Fernandez & Smyth complete UBS Cup team

Argentina's Vicente Fernandez and Des Smyth of Ireland have been added to the Rest of the World team to complete the rosters for the 2003 UBS Cup.

The Rest of the World squad will face the 12-man team from the United States in Ryder Cup-style matches. The 12-man teams consist of six players between the ages of 40 and 49, with the other six being over 50.

Tony Jacklin's Rest of the World team includes Smyth, Fernandez, Nick Faldo, Barry Lane, Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie, Eduardo Romero, Ian Woosnam, Rodger Davis, Carl Mason and Bill Longmuir.

The United States squad, captained by Arnold Palmer, consists of Brad Faxon, Scott Hoch, Mark O'Meara, Rocco Mediate, Curtis Strange, Hal Sutton, Ray Floyd, Hale Irwin, Bruce Lietzke, Craig Stadler and Tom Watson.

The United States is the two-time defending champion of the event having won last season 14 1/2 - 9 1/2.

The event will be contested on the Seaside Course at Sea Island Golf Club from November 20-23.
