Tiger commits to Deutsche Bank tournament

Tiger Woods said Wednesday he will play this September in the Deutsche Bank Championship, a tournament whose charitable proceeds will benefit his foundation.

Woods, U.S. Open champion Jim Furyk and Vijay Singh all said they will play in the Deutsche Bank, which will be played Labor Day Weekend at the TPC at Boston.

The tournament is the first in New England in five years. It will have a $5 million purse and has designed the Tiger Woods Foundation as its top charity.

Woods has played the Deutsche Bank-SAP Open in Germany every year since 1999, winning three times.
