Woodswithout regular caddie for cut record

Tiger Woods will try to tie the PGA Tour's cut streak record without his regular caddie.

Woods' agent at IMG, Mark Steinberg, said Monday that caddie Steve Williams had business to attend to in his native New Zealand and that Woods will use childhood friend Bryon Bell at the Funia Classic at Walt Disney World Resort this week.

Williams, who has caddied for Woods the last five years, recently picked up his 100th career victory at the American Express Championship. Williams previously carried the bag for Peter Thomson, Greg Norman and Raymond Floyd. He has been Woods' caddie for 36 of his 46 victories worldwide, including seven of his eight majors.

This won't be the first time Bell has worked for Woods. He also caddied for him in the 1998 Buick Invitational, which Woods won. Woods invited him back to help defend the title a year later.

Woods has made 112 consecutive cuts. Should he qualify for the weekend at Disney, he would tie the record set by Byron Nelson in the 1940s.

Woods would break the record in two weeks at The Tour Championship in Houston, which has no cut.
