Woods to return to Dubai Desert Classic
World number one Tiger Woods has announced that he will compete in the 2004 Dubai Desert Classic.
"I was really disappointed not to have made it over to Dubai earlier this year so I'm more than excited about returning," Woods was quoted as saying by organisers of the PGA event on Sunday.
Woods, who opted out of the tournament because of the Iraq crisis, added: "The organisers were cooperative and supportive and I appreciated their understanding of my decision not to play back in March."
Woods came second in the event in 2001 behind Thomas Bjorn after hitting the water on the closing hole. "Hopefully I can go one better next year," he said. The event will be staged on March 4-7.
