Padraig Harrington taking a break to rest
An exhausted Padraig Harrington will rest for the next fortnight in the lead-up to next month's US PGA Championship.
Fresh from finishing second for the fourth time this year, on this occasion behind Australian Brett Rumford at the Irish Open, the 32-year-old Irishman has decided that a couple of weeks away from the course is what he needs.
"I would say at the moment it is like a tightrope and the threads are falling one by one," Harrington told BBC Sport of neck and shoulder problems that are again troubling him.
"I have one thread left, so I need to rest before I do myself an injury. If I take two weeks off I can take a week without practising, but I will have two weeks in the gym, which would be nice."
