Oberholser wins Korea Golf Championship

American Arron Oberholser earned $1 million in the Shinhan Korea Golf Championship on Sunday, closing with a 3-under 69 for a two-stroke victory in the first PGA Tour-sanctioned Challenge Season event in Asia.

Oberholser, winless in two full seasons on the PGA Tour after winning twice on the Nationwide Tour in 2002, had a 4-under 284 total on the Jungmun course. He had five birdies and two bogeys in the final round.

Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez, the third-round leader at 2-under, shot a 72 to tie for second with South Korea's Kevin Na (70).

South Africa's Trevor Immelman had a 65, the best round of the day, to finish fourth at 1-under. Tim Petrovic (70) and Sweden's Daniel Chopra (71) followed at 1-over.

K.J. Choi, the only South Korean player to win on the PGA Tour, shot a 68 to finish 28th in the 38-player field at 11-over.
