Langer out of tournaments with wrist injury

European Ryder Cup captain Bernhard Langer has pulled out of the Deutsche Bank -SAP Opena and Volvo PGA Championship with a wrist injury

"It is with deep regret that I must withdraw from the Volvo PGA Championship," Langer, 46, said in a statement. "I was looking forward immensely to competing this year as it marks the 50th anniversary of this great championship.

"Unfortunately, my wrist is currently unable to withstand the rigours of tournament play and it is important for the remainder of the season that I make sure that the injury has healed completely before I resume competition."
