Lehman not worried about Tiger's views
Ryder Cup captain Tom Lehman is not concerned about the disappointment Tiger Woods expressed over his selection to head the 2006 U.S. team.
``I don't want to cause any problems; this is not an issue,'' Lehman said after an opening-round 68 Thursday at the Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational.
Woods said Wednesday while playing in Japan that he was disappointed close friend Mark O'Meara was not selected as captain.
``Tiger and I get along just fine,'' said Lehman, the former British Open champion selected earlier this month. ``He's upset with the PGA of America that his buddy is not the captain. And when I see him I will say 'I understand.'
``I don't take it personally.''
Lehman plans to speak with Woods in the near future.
``I think it's important to talk and have very open discussions,'' Lehman said. ``I want to hear everyone's opinions and concerns. It's part of the job as captain.''
