Former Nationwide player dies of cancer

David McCampbell, a member of the Nationwide Tour in 1998 and 2000, died May 2 from cancer. He was 45.

McCampbell last played the Tour in 2000, with his final event being the Monterey Peninsula Classic.

A memorial will be held Tuesday in his adopted hometown of Orlando, Fla. Burial is Friday in his home state of Indiana.

McCampbell is the second Nationwide Tour player to die in recent weeks, following Michael Christie's passing April 22.
