Singh officially announced as World No.1
Vijay Singhof Fiji ended the record breaking reign of Tiger Woods at the top of the Official World Golf Ranking with victory in the Deutsche Bank Championship at the TPC at Boston, Massachusetts on the PGA Tour. Singh won by three strokes from Woods and Adam Scott, the Australian climbing back into the World Top 10 at number 9. Singh becomes the twelfth No.1 in the 962 week (18 and a half year) history of the Ranking.
Luke Donald picked up his second European Tour title in just over a month as he held off Miguel Angel Jimenez to win the Omega European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre in Switzerland. Donald climbs to his highest ever position in the Official World Ranking and is now World Number 35.
Austria's Markus Briercruised to an eight stroke win at the BA-CA Golf Open presented by Telekom Austria played at his home course, Fontana Golf Club just outside Vienna. This was his second win on home soil having won the 2002 Austrian Golf Open. Markus is now ranked number 222 in the World.
