Michael Campbell receives trio of awards
Michael Campbell has received further recognition of his stunning 2005 season with three awards in his native New Zealand.
Campbell, who was recently crowned The European Tour Golfer of the Year, has been named Maori Sportsperson of the Year and New Zealand Sky TV's people's choice as Sports Personality of the Year.
He also received life membership with the New Zealand PGA.
The 36-year-old was named Maori Sportsperson of the Year Awards ahead of New Zealand's rugby league Tri-Nations series winning captain Ruben Wiki and Wests Tigers' star Benji Marshall.
"It's been a fantastic season and to win the Maori Sportsperson of the Year is a fabulous honour," said Campbell.
The US Open champion is also favourite to win the New Zealand Sportsman of the Year award in February.
